The West Somerset Railway operates steam trains over 20 miles of line between Bishops Lydeard (near Taunton) and Minehead via the Quantck Hills and the Exmoor Coast. Places of interest along the route include the old harbour town of Watchet, Cleeve Abbey at Washford and medieval Dunster with its castle.

Trains run on selected dates throughout the year and daily from late May to the start of October.

There are regular special events through the year geared to the enthusiast (steam and diesel galas), children (Meet and Greet Days, “Day out with “Thomas””, and Santa Trains) and themed trains including food and Murder Mysteries.
